Toxaway Falls, an impressive 150 foot waterfall, is located next to Highway 64 in North Carolina between Brevard and Cashiers. Toxaway Falls starts at Lake Toxaway and flows over an interesting almost striped looking bedrock in an incredible 240 feet elevation change before disappearing into the forest. Part of the waterfall is located inside Gorges State Park, the boundary line runs right through the middle of the river with the east side being part of the state park. The distinctive striped bedrock was formed when the granite rock was exposed for a large portion of the falls when the Toxaway Dam burst on August 13, 1916 after severe flooding. The newly renovated master bathroom has a vaulted wood ceiling, a huge built in shower, new double vanity, hardwood floor, and fluffy, plush towels. The lower level also faces the lake with two additional bedrooms, recently carpeted (2012) with comfortable queen beds. The second bath is on this level( renovated in 2012). Views from all levels are beautiful! Toxaway Shores encompasses 7 acres with a lake swimming area, boat docks, heated swimming pool, 2 fire pits, tennis courts and even an herb garden should you enjoy cooking. Boat rentals are available thru Lake Toxaway Marina should you choose to do some boating. You will always have something to do! Hiking trails in the Toxaway area are abundant with many waterfalls. I have put together a book over the years of directions to all of the local hiking trails and have included photos of most. Should you elect to dine out, there are several restaurants within 5 minutes of the condo. Additionally, I have included area restaurants, horse back riding , zip lining , and white water rafting info in this book to make sure you have an incredible mountain experience!! My gift to each family is beautiful Toxaway note cards for you to take home to share with your friends and family. For the children, there is a private walk in swimming area to the lake in our cove, heated pool, huge backyard for the kids to play, family friendly hiking trails, gem mining, horseback riding and friday ho downs at the local community center just 5 minutes from our condo. Transylvania County is known as the land of waterfalls, with over 200 in total. This is an area with so much to do!! Yet, if you are looking for a beautiful place to kick your feet up and relax..It's perfect for that too! The lake sits at 3000 feet; so warm days and cool nights. Toxaway is a private lake, the largest in N.C. yet no jet skis to disturb an early am canoe ride or cup of coffee on the dock. Located in a peaceful cove, serenity abounds while relaxing on either one of the two decks with beautiful long range lake views…. You’ll not want to leave! The garden is beautiful, the neighborhood is inviting and the streets are quiet for long walks. Dartmoor is not a pet friendly rental. You will find Dartmoor spotlessly clean, light and airy - the entry level of our three bedroomed home has two queen bedrooms which share a bathroom that has a walk in shower. On to the Living Room with a magical view of the lake and a wood burning fireplace and a TV. We have cable TV furnished by Comporium. On the other side of the Living Room there is a dining table that seats 6. The kitchen is complete with an electric stove and microwave and has a drip coffee machine as well as a toaster and a toaster oven. There are plenty pots and pans as well as wine glasses and drinking glasses to satisfy the number of occupancy. The deck outside of the Living Room has an outside wooden table with 6 chairs and there is a charcoal Weber grill for your grilling pleasure. Stairs from the deck will take you down to the lakeside deck that has two lounging chairs. Down the stairs to the lower level that has a Living Room, TV, a double opening wood burning fireplace as well as a bar area. The third bedroom, a King bedroom, has a very large walk in closet area that also accommodates a large bathroom with a large walk in shower. The laundry is also located in the lower level. Dartmoor has cable internet. You are able to rent a boat and have it docked at your own private dock. Dartmoor will certainly be a memory maker for you and your family and we invite you to come and stay for a while!

The updated kitchen has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and is equipped with everything you need. A second refrigerator is located in the laundry room. There are beautiful pegged hardwood floors and paneling throughout the house. The master bedroom has a king bed, full bath, flat screen TV, and glass doors which look out over the lake. The second bedroom has a queen poster bed and the third two single beds. They share a bath in the hallway. The large covered porch facing the lake is cozy with rockers, a couch, a swing, and dining table. The house is located on two private grassy lots with plenty or room for children and adults to play. A hammock, dock chairs, a kayak and a canoe are all provided. As the lake is private, boats must be rented from Lake Toxaway Marina. A second dock is available for rental boats. The beautiful towns of Brevard and Cashiers are just twenty minutes away and forty minutes to Highlands. Asheville and the famous Biltmore House are one hour away. For fine dining you can travel to these towns or go to one of the favorites 'The Brown Trout' just right around the corner. Hiking trails are near by on Panther Mountain, Whitewater Falls, or one of the state parks. Outside of Brevard is the beautiful Dupont National Forest.

You will go out on the back deck of your 2nd floor condo where you will be overlooking Toxaway Falls, an amazing waterfall that is 350 feet high, and 60 feet across of solid granite! Whatever season you come to the mountains of NC, you will enjoy the cool, fresh, mountain air. The beautiful mountain views are lush and green in the spring and summer, spectacular colors of changing leaves during the fall season, and seeing the falls covered in snow is breathtaking! There isn't a bad time to visit. The front porch is a perfect place to soak up some early morning sun with your favorite book or newspaper. There is no better place to enjoy your morning coffee, relax over a leisurely lunch, or enjoy a romantic dinner with the falls than on your deck overlooking the falls and listening to the natural background music! The condo offers a fully equipped kitchen and dining are that will seat 6 comfortably, and can accommodate a party of 8. The kitchen and dining area looks out into the living room. The living room has a full sized leather sofa with two easy chairs one leather and one upholstery, all nestled around a gas burning fireplace. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, the other two bedrooms are with queen beds. There are two full baths and a washer and dryer. As we said, your imagination in the only limit for what you can area offers a multitude of activities from hiking or biking the many trails. For water enthusiasts, there is trout fishing, canoeing, kayaking, or white water rafting in the areas beautiful rivers and streams. The beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway will give you some panoramic views that will blow you away!. The Biltmore Estates and Winery in Asheville provide an amazing tour that takes you back in time.. If golfing entices you, take in a day of one of our many surrounding and well know golf courses. Visiting the Folk Art Center, Cradle of Forestry, and the Fish Hatchery are always a treat. There are also many craft, art, and antique store to leisurely browse. After a wonderful day in nature, or on the water or the golf course if you want something more to do, take in an evening of music at the Brevard Music Center. From May to end of August you will find the action is at Groovin' on the Green in downtown Cashiers, live music and food, and pure your blanket and listen the music under the stars. Other great ideas would be the historic Flat Rock Playhouse for a theatre, or if you feel like living like one of the locals head to The Lake Toxaway Community Center, every Friday night you will find some real live bluegrass music and a home cooked meal to boot! For the hiking enthusiasts we are located only 10 miles from the largest falls east of the Mississippi, Whitewater do not want to miss the opportunity to experience the magnificent view you will find as you overlook the falls; you can actually hike down to the base of the falls. For a much less strenuous hike, you can hike down to the falls right outside your doorstep! Gorges National Park is only about 10 minutes from the condo. Shopping is within a few minutes either direction you head. There is the quaint town of Brevard, which boosts being the White Squirrel yes we even have the white squirrels right here at the falls. Highlands is about 30 at it's best, and a town that will give you a real sense of luxury in the mountains. Additionally you could hit historic Waynesville, or Sylva, home of Western North Carolina University! Lake Glenville is about 30 minutes away, offering boating and swimming. We also have a public pool onsite if you just want to spend an afternoon basking in the sun! Horseback riding, ziplining, rafting and shooting the rapids are all easily accessible, and within 30 minutes. Or if it is just a relaxing, do nothing vacation you seek, the falls and our setting offer you a serene environment to just let the worries of the day slip away! If you want a little more excitement the town of Asheville is about 1 hour away. Offering an eclectic - you can find anything you want - atmosphere. With every store you can think of, and some you will only find in the mountains of NC, everyone will find something they like! Our Lake Toxaway home is the quintessential Family Friendly Mountain Retreat. Located within Lake Toxaway Estates, with deeded access to Lake Toxaway, the largest private lake in North Carolina. There is a flagstone patio in the rear of the home with a large fire pit and a full porch on the front of the house with ample seating and mountain views. The kitchen is fully stocked and ready to use. The home offers internet access via wifi as well as satellite tv. A renter will have full use of the home, including lake access to Lake Toxaway via the Marina. We have available for use 2 canoes at the Marina for guests as well. Boats are available to rent from Lake Toxaway Marina, at guest's expense. Use of golf cart is not allowed. Lake Toxaway Estates is the private community surrounding Lake Toxaway, NC. It does have a homeowner's association with rules. There are hiking trails within the Estates which can be utilized by a guest (we can provide information upon request). Children's playground located at The Meadows which is at the top of Mt. Toxaway. Guests must be respectful of the owner's property and surrounding property inside the Estates. Our home is very convenient to US-64, which is one of the primary roads that connects Highlands, Cashiers and Brevard. We are also a very short drive (30mins) to the top of the Blue Ridge Parkway, with incredible views.

The Bunkroom Bedroom is large and perfect place for the younger guests to hang out and maybe even get some sleep. Two new matching triple bunk beds can sleep a total of 8 people on three levels and have built-in bookshelves and storage compartment. The top bunks and pull out bottom trundle beds are twins size while the bottom bunk is a full size bed on both. Also included is a very large walk-in closet with large closet system for storing clothes and luggage. For fun the Bunkroom has a large wall-mounted flat-screen Smart TV with a video game system and access to Netflix and Amazon Prime through WiFi and cable TV. The Bunkroom Bedroom shares a fully renovated bathroom with glass enclosed shower featuring river rock and subway tile and rustic vanity with storage drawers. The kitchen is beautifully done with brand new soft-close kitchen drawers and cabinets in white shaker and gorgeous white quartz counter tops and matching island. All appliances are new and include refrigerator with built-in water filter and water dispenser and ice maker. Additional appliances include a 12 cup drip coffee maker and Oyster blender. There are enough dishes and cutlery to serve 12 people and all utensils are included to prep the best meal for the largest crowds. The beautiful dining room with tongue-and-groove accented ceiling is the perfect place to bring the whole crew together to enjoy a meal and talk about the day. New table and chairs for 10 offer a warm and relaxing atmosphere and nice lake view help accent the experience. After dinner relax in the large and plush living room. Cozy seats draw you in and surround a large coffee table, which is right in front of the wood burning fireplace and has plenty of space to play games at night. A large wall-mounted flat screen TV over the fireplace is a Smart TV and has WiFi access to Netflix, Amazon Prime and Cable TV to watch all of your favorite movies, shows and sports. Outside there is a full width deck on the back of the house with plenty of space to grill on the large included 6 burner propane grill with side burners all while enjoying the amazing views all the way down Skier's Cove. Inside the screened-in porch there is a nice large table and benches to share meals. A light and fan above the table keep light on the subject and you cool on those warmer evenings. In the back yard, the entire lot is flat (which is SO RARE in Lake Toxaway) with no rocks so it's the perfect place to play a family game of volleyball, badminton, baseball, softball, soccer or kickball. Or take out the included Stand-Up Paddle Board or 2 included Kayaks (and life jackets for adults and children) and explore the lake and a leisurely pace or drop in a fishing line (fishing poles included). If you are more adventurous, rent a boat from the Lake Toxaway Marina during your stay and leave it tied up to the large boat dock. A removable swim ladder lets you take a dip off of the dock and easily get back up. To wind down the night, down by the boat dock there is also a wood deck with built in benches and a place to make smores on the portable fire pit. For more recreation you can visit the many national parks that are very close by to experience the beautiful waterfalls, many hiking trails for all different levels and even horseback riding. Local outfitters also offer fishing, tubing, canoeing, zip-lining and gem mining. If you would like a break from cooking, there are many great restaurants close by with all type of food. Most also serve liquor and even local craft beers. For shopping, Cashiers is a short drive away or visit historic Highlands, which is just a little past Cashiers. Getting here is easy from the Asheville Airport, which is 55 minutes door-to-door or a still-easy drive from either Atlanta or Charlotte International Airports.
